I decided to video everything going in my pack, if you prefer to read about it scroll down.
Packing for 14 days in one back-pack was a little daunting. So I started researching what others are doing by reading blogs. Tim Ferris has a great post on his fourhourworkweek blog. I took some of Tim’s advice and then adapted it for aviation, see previous post about packing. I think I finally have everything together, here is a list of the clothing I am taking:
- 1 pair Unionbay Men’s Cotton Twill Survivor Cargo Pant
- 1 pair cotton cargo shorts
- 1 pair Quiksilver Men’s Manic Boardshort
- 2 pair ExOfficio Men’s Give-N-Go Boxer Brief
- 5 pair Thorlo Men’s Lite Running Mini Crew Sock
- 3 cotton t-shirts
- 1 pair Reef sandals
- 1 pair Sanuk Men’s Vagabond Sandal Shoe
- 1 MSR Packtowl Original
Computer Equipment was also another tough area. Since our goal is to capture as much video and still footage as possible I want to bring as much gear as possible. Unfortunately this isn’t really possible. So here is what I am bringing. The Booq bag has a special padded slot for a laptop and another compartment for a SLR style camera.
- Booq Boa flow XL – Notebook carrying backpack – 17
- Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch 2.66GHz Core i7 Laptop
& Charger
- Canon T2i Digital SLR, this camera also shoots HD-video!
- LaCie Rugged All-Terrain 500 GB FireWire 800/ FireWire 400/USB 2.0 Portable External Hard Drive 301371
- 4 NflightcamGPS cameras powered by Contour
- All associated cables and chargers
As the trip unfolds I will let you know what I wish I had and what I could have done with out.
