We are currently over El Salvador having just passed to the west of the Guatemala highlands.
We’ve got the Pacific ocean and beautiful coastline just to our right and volcanoes to our left popping up along the coastal mountain range.
Alex has been hanging his head out the window half the flight snapping photos and footage. I’ve been hanging my head out the window the other half of the flight avoiding the proof that Patrick’s dinner from last night didn’t sit well with him. Thank god Charlie Banana’s windows open in-flight.
We spent the evening last night celebrating being officially abroad by drinking non imported Corona’s and checking out what Tapachula had to offer.
Tapachula’s not the biggest town but it was pretty lively for a Monday night. We found a restaurant around a Plaza serving some pretty dang good Mexican and set up shop for a while.
We were entertained by some impromptu break dancing competition in the middle of the Plaza.
After another hour or so out exploring the town we headed back to get some much needed shut eye. It was a fun first night in a pit stop town.
Currently we’ve got 137 nautical miles till we make it to Liberia, Costa Rica.
Then on to La Fortuna.
(stay tuned for some of Alex’s pics from the flight…if we stumble across civilization tomorrow we’ll put some up)

Patrick – I hope it isn’t coming out both ends. I watched you pack your bag, and I didn’t see any astronaut diapers. Eric
Sorry Patrick is having to hang out. Hope his upset is limited to the upper end and you’re not needing to use the in-flight facilities.
The scenery sounds terrific. Look forward to the pics.
First mistake– letting Patrick eat ethnic food. Suddenly I’m happy to be in Arkansas.
Sorry you lost the buffalo and elk jerky. But, what happened to the homemade pumpkin bread??
